UniqueSoul
Is it normal to feel anxiety and fear in a relationship? Fear that it wont work out, or that they will leave you for another man/woman? I'm struggling with what are typical fears in a relationship vs irrational fears Link to comment
Batya33
It depends what is triggering the anxiety and fear and whether those feelings are there the majority of the time or just on occasion. Link to comment
UniqueSoul
what if nothing is triggering the anxiety, but the feelings are still there Link to comment
Batya33
what if nothing is triggering the anxiety, but the feelings are still there Well yes something is triggering it -if it's not his behavior or your behavior (or maybe his omission of a behavior or yours) then it might just be triggered by being in a close relationship with someone. If more of the time than not you feel anxious and fearful then I don't think it's normal or healthy - a relationship should be mostly positive/fun. and if you give it some thought you can probably figure out when you are more likely to feel anxious/fearful and when you are more likely to react to those feelings. that would be helpful to know. UniqueSoul
i guess its more so my paranoid/jealous behavior that is triggering negative thoughts. he does nothing to make me feel jealous/anxious. if anything, he does everything to prevent those feelings. its all me, and im struggling. thats batya Link to comment
Batya33
I like the book "Out of the Box for Life" by Berland to help deal with those issues. Link to comment
