redrose85
Because she doesn't have peripheral vision on one side anymore and there is always a risk of seizures as the mass in her brain shrinks. It's not safe and she gave up her license. She uses her scooter from time to time, but never on main roads. Link to comment
OptomisticGirl
Ahh. yeah, that must suck though. I'm sure it takes some getting use to. Link to comment

redrose85
So relieved. My schedule for the deli has been messed up all month. They've been scheduling me for days when I can't work, days I requested off, etc... I saw that they scheduled me for this Friday morning (have class on Friday morning) and called them right then and there. Turns out the day off request box went missing so they made the schedule with what they knew. I talked to my boss and gave her my exact school/work schedule, as well as times that I will have meetings, and the exact Sundays that I can't work. I had requested this upcoming weekend off and she is going to reschedule it. I also made sure that I will have Thanksgiving long weekend off and she said she booked that off for me. Yay! The schedule thing was really starting to stress me out. Link to comment

redrose85
Oh yes! She's changed quite a bit. The old her would have just been said, "well, too bad, find someone to take the shifts" I get a whole weekend off!! Birthday party for friend A on Friday night, birthday dinner for friend K on Saturday, Vancouver with Alex and a friend on Sunday for the literary festival. Bring on awesome weekend Having a nice day. I cleaned a bunch (even pulled the fridge shelves out to clean them) went to the gym for a quick workout, and now I need to sit down and write a short story. I got some groceries after the gym and bought myself a bouquet of fuschia coloured alstroemeria Link to comment

redrose85
Good lord. This ENA situation is so frustrating. I should just quit and find a new site. Upon closer inspection of my ring, there is a chip and a scratch in the diamond where there wasn't before. The ring isn't even round anymore either. Also frustrating. I know I should call them right away and tell them about these things, but I don't want it to be gone for weeks again. Disappointed. I don't know if it's worth messing around with. Then again, this is my ring for life, regardless of how they see it as being a "lower end" piece. I took a picture of my "lower end" piece. IMO, it's gorgeous. Link to comment
OptomisticGirl
What situation? You can't leave us! I think I can actually see the scratch... I know you don't want to be without it but if it's something they did they need to fix it! Link to comment
redrose85
Oh I think it's finally resolved. The old account should be closed by now. I can't see it in that photo, but I can see it when the light hits the top. It's not on the same side of the inclusion, but I do worry about it cracking. I really hope they can do something. I called the store and was told that I can come in tomorrow afternoon and speak to the manager. I told Alex that I definitely do not want us buying our wedding rings there. Link to comment
OptomisticGirl
It may be the way the light is hitting it but it almost looks like it's scratched in the upper right corner of the diamond - but I think it's just the way they light is reflecting. I would def let them fix it or take care of it. We got our wedding bands for a pretty good price, $200 for the pair online. Link to comment

redrose85
Oh hi Firiel! Sorry, forgot to tell you I had a new journal OG- That's just from the light. No scratch there. Should have just got a gold band Today at work the supervisor got an earful about how badly the group of us closed the deli last night. We forgot some salads and things. Well, all night I got "reminded" again and again of how upset the manager was, etc... I heard the same thing probably 10 times in a span of 4 hours. I really hate working with the sup when the manager has stressed her out. Tomorrow is a complete day off. Just have to deliver my papers and take the ring in for a resolution. If you guys want to see the online version of our paper it's here: link removed I just realized that "Tragedy" on the front cover is spelled wrong... Gahhh. Our poor overworked copyeditors. That's such a bad mistake. Link to comment
Firiel
A complete day off! That sounds wonderful. Enjoy it! Link to comment
redrose85
Oh well there is homework of course, but other than that, I can get a nice long workout in, and we've slowly cleaned the house over the last couple of days, so no cleaning! redrose85
Today went by super fast. Had lunch with a friend, visited my old workplace, hung around the mall waiting for the jeweller, said bye bye to ring and met up with another friend. I basically window shopped. Then friend and I shared a bento box, and I had to leave to go and deliver the papers. It wasmonsooning outside. Within minutes, I was soaked. I parked my car on a hill and water was running into my shoes. Not pleasant. Heeeere's autumn! I found my first wedding related item-- a white belted peacoat. I didn't buy it, but I think I will because it's only $30, it fits perfectly, and it's a great solution for a chilly winter. My friend votes yay. Link to comment

redrose85
Haven't liked anything I've seen online, so not really. I need to vent for a minute. My boss lost the whole Sherry's availability thing she wrote up when we were on the phone the other day (gah!) When I was in on Tuesday, she had me write it all down in the book. She then promised to cover Saturday and I found someone to cover Sunday. Stupid me forgot I have class on Friday morning, and said, oh I can work Friday, it's okay. But I can't. So I left her a note when I realized my mistake, and I called this morning to see if it was going to be covered. it is, but someone crossed my shift off and it apparently wasn't my boss. Maybe it was me? Dunno why I'd do that, but anyways, she's mad, assistant manager is annoyed because I have given up pretty much all of my shifts over the next few days. I gave up last Sunday because I was already working 9-5, I worked Monday and Tuesday, have my usual days off on Weds and Thurs (that will change) and then for this particular weekend, I wanted Sat and Sunday off. Just so happens I also need Friday off because I can't work 6-10 am when I have class at 10 am. Next week will be better. I just don't want everyone thinking I'm flaking out. How hard is it to get a weekend off, anyways?! It's pouring rain here, and I love it. It's a perfect day to stay home and do homework Link to comment
OptomisticGirl
I hate having to ask for days off, I always feel like a flake but I think my boss knows when I ask off, I need it off and I"m usually more than willing ot work a normal day off to get the actual day off I need. That and I try really hard to schedule stuff for my days off. But I still feel like a flake, lol It was POURING here last night and has been gray and over cast all day - loving it! I like to think this is how English weather is and I could totally dig it. I just need a good pair of rain boots.... Have you have a preference for any kind of style? Mermaid, beach style (what I consider mine, just flowy), princess, etc for your body type? Link to comment
redrose85
Feel like a huge flake. This week is actually really calm and I feel guilty about it lol. I’m just slowly gathering article ideas, working on my fiction, doing some reading. Went to Value Village today and created costumes for the pimps and hoes themed birthday party this Saturday. They’ll double as halloween costumes. I got a light up crystal staff, a red pimp style hat, and a peacock tie with ladies on it for Alex. I got a zebra print halter dress, a purple pimp hate, a furry green scarf, and a purple sequined purse thing for myself. He walked in and saw everything all spread out and laughed LOL. It was fun to gather everything up and treasure hunt. The dress is perfect, and I will wear it again. I know the birthday girl will use the green furry scarf again. As for dresses, absolutely no mermaid. Hate em. Kind of leaning towards the princess look. I love tiaras and Alex envisions the whole ice/snow princess thing. I enjoy tulle, sparkles, lace, etc.. Nothing sleek or sheath-like. I don’t have the body type. Link to comment
OptomisticGirl
lol - I can't wait to dress up with L. I don't think he actually likes the idea but we need to socialize - what better way to do it than at a Halloween party?? I think we'll do a Doctor Who and Companion one year. I can see him cringing reading this. I hate mermaid too. Well, some. The ones that look like they exploded into cotton balls at the bottom annoy me. But the ones that go straight down and are clean lines, I like. I admit, I hate the poofy dresses like princess style. My mom kept trying to put me IN that kind of dress and I was like no, no, no, no. Beach style dress for me, relaxed and flowly woman. Link to comment
redrose85
The cafeteria swindled me again. Worst “Chinese” food ever. I was so looking forward to this. So last night Alex was insisting that I should be the ho for this party. I want to be a pimp too. He was like “but all of the other girls there are going to be hos, BUT mine!” Then later on, he was playing with the light up staff I bought. He turned out all the lights because the light design hits all the walls and the ceiling, and he was calling Java a “rave kitty”. “Go rave kitty, go!” LOL. Java was not impressed by the flashing lights. This is what happens when he’s stuck alone in the office all day. Link to comment

redrose85
I am going to apply. I decided. Going to call the editor on Monday and prep myself for a phone interview. This could be a really good way to get my foot in the door and make some money for us. It’s either that or go to J school for two years if Journalism is the path I take. Link to comment
