We broke up today

So, this morning, my girlfriend of nearly 3 months broke up with me. She told me she had something to give me, and turns out, it was the necklace I got her from Australia. A few minutes after, I saw on her phone that she was texting some other guy... Yesterday... When we were still together. Sure we've been having problems lately, but I didn't think she would be asking other guys "Would you date me?"

 

I've pretty much gotten over it, but first, I burned every letter, picture, and the birthday card she gave me. Basically, I got rid of everything that reminds me of her and that I got from her (except the Chipotle gift card xD), and boy, did it feel good.

Very sorry to hear it Keith. That sucks I know. You are doing the right things by getting rid of reminders of her. Do you go to the same school? If so, that makes it tougher. You will get past this. Being together just 3 months will make a little easier, but it still hurts. Post here anytime to feel like it. We have all going through the same thing.

Yeah, we go to the same school, and we have homeroom together, which means I have to see her every day. Also, we have lunch together on blue days, but, there are 2 lunchrooms. Thanks man

You guys weren't together for an overly long period of time, not that this undermines the feelings involved - but it's better to get out of that before you become more committed and find out she has no problem asking other guys if they would date her. You seem to be handling it well, and you're young yet so certainly this is only your beginning into your journey of finding love.

Wasn't even right after, she was texting him yesterday.. We hadn't even talked about breaking up until later that night. I usually get a chicken burrito bowl with root beer

After reading those text messages I'm glad this has ended. At least you know what types of people to avoid now. Just take this as a lesson learned. I've had my share of crazy, stalker-type, clingy/needy ones and it is NOT fun. Good thing this was only 3 months.

 

Even though you have homeroom together don't let it be awkward. Just carry on as you would and take some time to yourself if you need.
