symbiot
What I have learned. I have learned (or atleast believe) that nothing in this life (even life itself) has any value accpet the value that we place upon it. If you make a person or a relationship invaluable and then "they" leave or "it' ends. You feel like you can't live without "it' or "them" because of the value that you bestowed upon"it" or "them". Everything in this life (even life) comes to an end. It is the cycle of life. It is nature.
learning2relax
You feel like you can't live without "it' or "them" because of the value that you bestowed upon"it" or "them". Great post. It is also where the value you placed on them is greater than the values that you have for yourself. You have to value your own happiness. You have to value your own self worth. You have to value various things for you that should be a higher priority than the values you have for anyone else. First you, then family, then others..... If you consider them family because of marriage or the time spent then I would adjust to say; first you, then kids, then family then others.... I agree with both of these posts. There's a lot of wisdom in both of them. You always have to love and put yourself first. It's something I've learned the hard way in life. But it's also something that was not taught to me in childhood. I was taught always to put others first, no matter how it made me feel. While giving to others is fine, as long as it doesn't get in the way of you. If you don't love yourself first, and put yourself first... You aren't capable of loving another the right way with compassion, understanding, insight, and love.
