ChicoShadow
Sometimes I wish I could walk around with a sign over my head that said "I'm shy. Come talk to me." I don't know if people would actually pay attention to it or if I would be comfortable with the attention if they did but today I found an "I'm shy" t-shirt and I'm wondering whether or not I should buy it. I think it's pretty funny and hoped it would help people see that I am not sad, mad, or uppity. What do you guys think of the idea of wearing a t-shirt like that? NCforME
Haha... Could work. Have a good line in case someone actual says hello. Could come off as one of those ironic t-shirts people wear. I wouldn't wear it, but I do think it could work. Best be groomed well and looking cool otherwise it won't come off as so ironic.
In the Dark
Give it a shot it you have the balls. I remember a long time ago, there was some guy I knew who was so desperate for a GF that he stood in the main street with a FOR LEASE sign in hopes of getting a lady friend. Believe it or not....he did.

Oh yeah there is always a risk of making a freak'in ass of yourself but if you strike gold all those people who mocked you for what you did end up having a cup of shut the ..... up. I know I had a cup.
im_the_undead
one time........................................... this guy had a shirt that said "I'm not illegal, I'm a tourist" at school.......... and i busted out laughing..... and it started up quite an interesting conversation. It apparently started many interesting conversations for him, ironically, positive ones. He got the attention he wanted. Matter fact, we've been friends since. Funny shirts can go a long way. abitbroken
If you are shy - I would recommend a shirt that references a quirky interest of yours. a t shirt of an obscure band or movie or something you volunteered at would go a long way. It would attract someone who genuinely shared or "got" your interests and gave you something comfortable to talk about. Otherwise, I think the conversation would be "hey, shy girl!" rather than a more meaningful chat. Personally, I would probably be more taken off guard that way. But that's just me. I would probably start talking to someone if I saw them wearing that shirt. But be prepared for a lot of attention. Mainly from people wondering if you ade really shy lol. Deciduous
Hi ChicoShadow I think it's a great idea. It's a conversation starter. It's an ice-breaker. It's quirky and original. I would chat to some-one wearing that T-shirt, because it would intrigue me in a good way. And it's actually quite welcoming for other shy bodes in the room. Good luck with it. Vincent Ruiz
I don't think it's a good idea. Shy is usually not a good thing when you're trying to meet a girl. You might get some people to comment on it but if you are in fact shy for real then you probably won't know where to take it from there and things will probably start getting awkward. Confidence is what you always want to show to people and a confident person usually isn't shy. So basically what the shirt is really saying about you is "I'M NOT CONFIDENT!!". I think it'll work against you. Find another shirt that conveys that you have a good sense of humor instead like I'm The Undead said in his story. The "I'm not illegal, I'm a tourist". It'll work better for you.

anya1607307555
I would think it was an ironic 'funny'. That's not to say I'm against it but I think a person wearing it should be prepared for attention, which isn't the sign of a shy person in my opinion. SunWorshipper
I agree with undead and Vincent R' - being shy is nothing you should feel you have to hide, but wearing it on a t-shirt is another thing all together.. If you feel you can be prepared for the attention + awkward questions..you could go for it, but if you are genuinely shy, that's usually the last thing I know a lot of shy people want.. I, for one, know I want like-minded conversations with people I feel a real connection with..shy or not, so an interesting fact about you thats a great conversation starter would be better IMO, but if you think you can feel prepared, handle and feel comfortable (that last one's not necessary, but helpful!) people talking to you about it, then its worth a shot. I've never seen anyone wear an "Im shy" t-shirt, but it would be refreshing, especially to other shy people and I think that's where you'd score with the ladies if you're male and they're shy too and make more friends with other shy people.. just be prepared for the weirdos who claim their shy but are just plain strange & think they can pull the wool over your eyes! Lol.. I had this experience & never mentioned being shy in public again after that..!
Brightest Dark
I'm not sure if I like the idea of an 'I'm Shy' T-shirt. I'm not sure I'd believe that the person was shy. Either that or I'd think it was awkward that he was announcing it to the world. How about going to a T-shirt Printing company though and designing a shirt that says something more wordy. Maybe make more of a joke out about it, like having a T-shirt that says 'I MAY BE TALL, DARK & HANDSOME... BUT I'M ALSO SWEET, SUGARY & SHY' or something. OR get a Mr. Men design with MR. SHY on it. But draw an arrow saying 'That's Me' up to him. I don't know... Where are you planning on wearing it? I doubt I'd go up to someone in a 'I'm Shy' T-shirt if I saw one around.
