Samedy
I was wondering if anyone had experience with Laser Hair Removal. I am considering getting my back done. While it looks expensive, it does seem like the most cost effective approach, as waxing it will be guaranteed to come back. I have heard that for many people it does require multiple treatments. Hypothetically, if a person only went for one treatment would they still experience a reduction in density, or could it all come back. Is there a time frame that you would have to get retreated? WildHorse
In my experience, it will all come back. They want you to wait about six weeks in between treatments, and it took about 4-5 treatments on my underarms for me to notice a difference. I started the treatments in 2008 and unfortunately I STILL have to go back every so often for touch ups at around $40 a pop I didn't have a ridiculous amount of underarm hair, either... I just got razor burn there a lot, so didn't want to have to deal with it. However, I also heard that being on birth control can trigger more hair growth, and I was bouncing all over the place with different birth control methods at that time. That may be a reason as to why it's taken so long for me to see results. Luckily, as a dude, that's a problem you won't have Link to comment
Samedy
Do you mind if I ask what kind of hair you have? I have read that it is most effective on dark thick hair. I have black hair put fine. I read that it is less effective for light hair. Link to comment
petite
I had laser hair removal about 9 years ago and back then it was a lot more expensive than it is now. I have dark brown hair so it's easier to pick up, the darker your hair the better the removal process. I did not have any regrowth in the first two or so years and then I noticed some regrowth. Now I just go for touch ups once a year and I'm very happy with the results. No more waxing, shaving, and all that drama. I used to constantly get itchy skin after shaving, waxing was becoming more and more expensive and then constantly worrying about appointments and then letting the hair grow in order to wax again was too much of a pain. Laser initially seems more expensive but in the long run I think it's cheaper; at least that's how I see it when comparing to waxing. It is less effective for light hair, but those that want permanent hair removal can opt for the electrolysis option (but it takes much much longer than laser). Link to comment
kiwiana
I am about to go in for my first ever laser hair removal session and I am wondering if there is anything to do to prepare before hand to get more effective results? Link to comment
