Hard to make new friendships in college?

Hi!

I'm in a new college and wanted to make new friends with people outside of my high school. It should be pretty easy since its a new environment. But i noticed that people are pretty much all in a clique of friends and they're close so I feel weird coming in the clique and initiating and don't want them to think that I don't have no friends! Plus, people in classes don't really talk and we don't live in dorms like in the US.. soo how did you make new friends? was it hard?

I like to know this one too. I'm in your shoes. I've seen two girls who sat accross from each other, then after a couple weeks sat next to each other and became the best of friends in a class. Before that I tried to sit next to a couple girls who didn't know each other, they ended up becoming great friends and I'm like what am I doing wrong? Everyone seems to take classes with their friends, or have their own groups, have no interest in making new friends. I don't know I feel like an oddball and completely gave up on it.

It's not hard. Just gotta put yourself out there. Introduce yourself around the people around you and exchange e-mails. Ask them if they want to form study group or if they miss classwork can contact you. Get to class a few mins early and talk to fellow classmates. Good luck.
