Do they freeze you to take dental stitches out?

I am having dental stitches out on the 29th of August, do they just remove them or do they freeze your mouth to do it? I have never had them before.

They took mine out without anything, but it didnt hurt at all anyway. I dont know how many you have o where, I just had them when I got my wisdom tooth pulled.

My experience is the same as Point5's. I am absolutely terrified of the dentist and generally throw hysterical fits when I go, but removing the stitches really caused me no pain whatsoever, it just tickled a bit. I also had them out in connection with removing a wisdom tooth.

I have about 13 to remove from the front of my mouth. Ok, good, sounds like it will be an easy appointment,

Your gum should have started to heal by then so it should only take a few minutes to remove them. You may feel light 'tugging' but it should not be painful. Good luck

They don't hurt being taken out, but are they not dissolvable?

^^ I think they are, but I suspect not all of them will come out on their own so I guess she wants to make sure they are all out.

Is it from wisdom teeth? Those SHOULD dissolve...I can't imagine they're painful though. Mine just fell out.

No, it is not from wisdom teeth. I think that they are dissolveable, but the surgeon wants to be sure my gum is healing back together and all the stitching is out since there are so many of them.
