mfan
If I wanted to increase the chances that a woman would write back to me after I messaged her, I could edit my profile first and purposely put in some wording very similar to hers, and then say "look how much we have in common!" I would never, ever consider doing this. But it scared me to realize how possible this is. Have you ever heard of this being done? It makes me realize that when you receive a message, you should be quite careful when you get to know the person. Link to comment
Lavender25
If you're worried about people lying in their profiles to impress another then, yes, it happens all the time. You should always be careful when getting to know someone. If someone did lie about having something in common with you and they really don't, then the truth will come out at some point. Kitkat973
People can do this in person too, though. It's not something limited to online dating. Link to comment
