allsunny
am I over reacting? Now I think he's testing me. I just find it unattractive. We're going out tonight, and I'm going to have fun getting to know him, but am I being too mean by not texting him right away? or should I stop playing games by waiting about the same time to text him back? I know it's a stupid game. I just got out of a year relationship, so it's back to this "feeling" each other out phase. Oh, he texted me 30 minutes later. lol I texted him 15, because I thought it was stupid to play this text game. If he waits longer to text me again though, I'm probably going to wait even longer. I really think this is stupid, but us getting to know each other is still pretty fresh. I'm overreacting right? I am. lol Link to comment
bulletproof
Not everyone texts back right away. I don't keep my phone by me at all times. People do things like shower, go to movies, etc., or they don't like to text when they are having a conversation in person with someone else. Don't play games- text when you receive one. I doubt he's on the other end of the phone saying Oh my god, she texts back too quickly. Link to comment

Well, the reason why I found it annoying is because he asked for my number, and we both got back in our car. I picked up my phone a minute later after I drove off and asked what I should call him. We call each by proper names at our job. So he had his phone on him. BUT, If he was driving, then maybe he didn't want to text and drive. But him and his buddy were probably conversating in the car so he waited to text me back... I know I'm over reacting. lol I just thought I'd like to discuss it, just so I won't jump to conclusions. metrogirl
Not everyone can text back immediately. Maybe he was driving, or on the toilet, or doing any number of things. Don't sweat the small stuff. Link to comment
Weeb
You're over-reacting. 30 minutes? I've responded/gotten responses to texts hours after they were sent. Even if I have my phone on me, I don't always notice the beep. Sometimes my phone turns off in my pocket, sometimes I'm just busy and can't answer it right away. Unless it was urgent, 30 minutes is nothing. Link to comment
allsunny
I know ya'll. I'm just nervous! That's why I'm on here... hoping to make sure I stay confident and "carefree." I just got over a terrible terrible break up a year ago. Terrible! And this is my first "date" or "hang out" or whatever you wanna call it. That I almost forgot how to go on a date. lol Link to comment
catfeeder
If you had phoned and reached his voicemail, would you be just as worked up about not hearing from him right away? You need to get a grip and pipe down. People have lives beyond their devices. Consider that carefully, or you'll spin yourself into a state that WILL come out sideways on the guy, eventually. Patience. Link to comment
mouseno4
Getting back into the game can be a nerve wracking experience. Things go from totally easy and in control - to seemingly chaotic. Relax and chill. Let the game play out as it will. Link to comment
thejigsup
Geeze! I didn't know there were "rules" regarding communication. Just text back when you feel like it! Games are for kids. Link to comment
