for those married or about to get married

Recommended Posts

did you and your partner have sex without condoms? I have been with my girlfriend for 4 years now; I am 27 and she is 26. In the beginning, we had sex without condoms or birth control. Then we decided that condom use was the way to go; however, I discovered that I went soft with the condom on. There was this one time we had sex with the condom on. I pulled out just before I ejaculated. It turned out that the condom was lodged inside her vagina which led to her freaking out. It took minutes for her to push it out. Ever since then, we have been doing it without the condom or birth control pill. I pull out before I ejaculate. Any couples before they got married have sex without any form of protection and the woman not getting pregnant? BTW, I will be popping the question to her soon.

Is there a reason at all a female won't go on to birth control?

it's expensive, its a pain to remember to take, it makes some women feel sick (most b/c methods aren't side affect free)

these pail in comparison to getting pregnant, but i thought i should play devils advocate

Almost everyone I know who used this method ended up being parents before they wanted to be. The unwanted/unplanned for pregnancies eventually led to at least half of those couples splitting up.

I don't why it's so hard to find suitable contraception when there is so much out there these days.

(Also, like the poster above, I'm not sure what this has to do with marriage? )

There are numerous types of birth control to use. She can get a patch, a pill, a shot, a sponge, an implant...some of which are quite side-effect free.

The method you are using is almost as bad as using no birth control at all...that's why it's called, "pull out and pray".

If you don't use protection, wouldn't she be worried and have to constantly count down the days until her next period.

That would suck more than using condoms or bc I imagine.

I have a friend who got a chick preggo after like, the 20th time having sex with her using the pull out method. It's bound to happen.

We always used protection. We didn't want to chance anything, and the pull out method ISN'T reliable.

Even after being married, we still use protection as babies really aren't part of the plan right now. We've done things well, and plan to continue until we CHOOSE to have children. Not take the chance.

You purchased a condom that was too big. Get one that is the right size. I have been using condoms for over 8 years and never ever had this problem.

Medical reasons. I get stroke-like symptoms and severe migraine attacks when using hormonal medication. Birth control isn't for everyone unfortunately.

There was a study done somewhere, I can't remember off hand but if you do the pull out method right it's more effective as a condom. One you get off you have to pee and clean yourself up a bit. You can't go right back at it. Even with a condom you're supposed to pull out for them to be safe. The problems with both of these methods is human error. You'll get drunk and won't care to pull out or you'll put the condom on wrong. You could have drunk sex and if she becomes dry it'll start ripping the condom and you'd never know because you're drunk. I've always done the pull out method and it hasn't failed me yet!! I was going strong on it for about 13 years. Now I have a vasectomy!!

Boogus unless there is got a source for this. Guys have a difficult time urinating when they aroused and pre-ejaculation can contain semen. One drop of semen can impregnate a woman. Seriously, the OP used a condom that was way too big... or he didn't hold onto the end of the condom while pulling out because a condom can slip off a flaccid penis.

Yes, because doctors are prescribing their patients to use the pull out method over condom uses.

It also could have not failed you for 13 years because you just weren't meant to have a kid. I know a couple who in his first marriage they tried for 3 years to have a baby and never did. When he got with my friend he thought because his ex couldn't pregnant he was sterile so they both just went with that - 9 months later came a beautiful little girl. Sometimes the deck of cards just isn't in alignment.
