Samedy
Two months ago my supervisor asked me if, at some point, I would be able to change my evening class to another night. I said that would be fine. A month ago, he did remind me of this agreement I made, but has never given me a definitive date. As it is summer, there are a number of programs I want to sign up for. Some of which will take the night he wanted me to keep free. Next week I have to sign up for my Volleyball team (yes, it's fun, and social, but it is important to me), and the best night for me to sign up is the night he wanted me to keep free. Since my supervisor hasn't brought up this switch, should I tell him that this night is no longer going to be available? I know it's not going to make him happy, but how long am I supposed to keep this night free, when I have no timeline given to me? Link to comment
DN
I think you should keep your word but you could ask if that switch is going to occur. Link to comment
annony
I would give him the opportunity to switch first, like go to him and say "Hey, are you still needing me on that night, because if not, there's something else I'd like to commit to on that night" tell him to S*** or get off the pot in a nice way. I agree. Make it clear you need a decision pronto and if you can't get one you're going plan your life accordingly. You cannot keep your life on hold forever, it's unreasonable. Recreation is important. Volleyball sounds awesome! Link to comment
