anonymous12
I was diagnosed with major depression around 9 months ago. Apparently I've had it for 5 years. I've been on medication eversince and have been feeling well for the past couple of months. Lately, I've been feeling all the depression related emotions ( worthlessness, fatigue, sadness, lack of interest...) I'm really scared and afraid that I might be falling back into depression. I just wanted to let it out, hoping to find comfort in someone's words. Link to comment
Ariel85
Let your doc know you need a meds adjustment. It's not uncommon at all for AD's lose their efficacy a bit after a few months. Don't despair - this can be fixed. Call your doc. Link to comment
anonymous12
Thank you Ariel. I have an appointment with him next week, I'm still worried though. I don't think I can handle being depressed again. I just feel it creeping up on me and I'm fighting it as hard as I can, but I'm starting to get exhausted.... Link to comment
thusspokemara
It is not uncommon for an individual to trial four or more AD's before a balance is struck between efficacy and side effects. This may not sound particularly comforting at this point, though if/when it occurs it may provide some reassurance. What AD are you currently taking? Have you tried any psychotherapeutic verbal approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral or Gestalt? Link to comment
