Ingrown hair

Recommended Posts

It's sounds crude, but a razor, iodine and bandaging sounds good. Cut around the base of the hair, remove a flap of the skin, pull out the hair and irrigate with iodine. Then fold the skin flap back over, and bandage it up. Repeat the iodine wash and bandage every time you shower (at least once a day), until the skin is no longer broken.

Alternatively, very hot salty water may break the skin enough to remove the hair manually. Salty as in sea salt.

It hurts, and is gross. Depends if you're happy doing surgery on yourself - I'm fine, I think it's fun! Each to their own though.

You could go to the GP, they'll do it

Oh dear please don't cut it!!

I can ALWAYS remove ingrown hair by firmly squeezing it between two inder finger nails as you would a pimple. The hair and a blob of solid light yellow material will emerge which can be grasped by tweezers and removed without any pain at all.

Good luck!

Depends if it is, in fact, an ingrown hair - wouldn't you agree?

OP - I'm curious. Willing to put AU$50 on the fact that it's a boil. (Biology is amazing). Are we taking other bets?

The ingrown hair may be too long or too deep for you dig out. I definitely suggest going to a GP. As soon as you notice an ingrown hair you should start working at trying to get it out.

Ingrown hair's are the boon of every woman!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you're hilarious!
