my bf and his ex gf got together on her last bday, and i just saw that today was her bday and he commented her saying "happy birthday hope you get a great gift like u did on last years" , meaning him. Cool?

I don't think there's anything wrong with him making a joke referencing that they got together on her bday. If they're on good terms, it's just being playful, in my opinion. No biggie.

I would be bothered. I wouldn't mind him saying "happy birthday hope its a good one" as opposed to what he said. I would be bothered. for sure.

i know he means himself because he's told me before about her and how they got together on her bday and he called himself her gift, and she replied back saying " one girl can only be so lucky lol" , and she also called him today but he didn't answer, which is weird because they haven't talked since before me and my bf got together.
