I have an old friend who I haven't talked to in a little while. Something happened between me and one of our mutual friends. She saw on facebook and texted me about it. While we were texting, we discussed that we would both be leaving town soon for the summer and she said that we had to meet up before I leave in a few days. There is an event in the city that I like to go to every year and I suggested that we go to that. The thing is, I really don't want to go with her. She is the only friend I could go with and otherwise I would end up going with my family, which is actually better in my mind. She's a nice person but there is a reason why we are old friends. I know her very well so I'm pretty sure she has already forgotten and the next time we talk, she would probably be like "wait...we were supposed to hang out before you left." Am I being unreasonable. Should I just go with her and get it over with?

If you agreed then you should follow through or tell her you are not feeling well and not going to the event (if you would run into her there or if she would hear that you were there).
