How do you personally keep in touch with former managers and coworkers?

if you really enjoyed working with your former manager but dont have a relationship outside work, how would you keep in touch with them?

I visit my ex-colleagues at their workplace and we meet irregularly once in a while for a drink. I don't need no bs virtual services like fb, linked in etc... nor would I fancy them.

That works until you arrive one day and they are gone. Over time it is easy to lose track of people. Sites like LinkedIn aren't "BS"--they are practical applications that allow you to keep track of people no matter how much job hopping or relocating they might do.

Going back to see old colleagues during lunch or have a drink, etc.

If you don't have a very personal relationship with them, something like sharing work relevant links/ articles might be one way of initiating correspondence.
