lykkeli
I'm definitely the type to take break ups HARD. When I was with my most recent ex, I knew Id be in pain if we ever broke up. Now here I am completely fine, not exactly happy but not in excruciating pain either. I am sad and numb, and have been keeping myself busy. It's only been a week since our breakup. The only time I cried hysterically was the night he left. Anyone know what this means? Link to comment
fifregister
Hard to say without knowing the context. How long were you together? Did you initiate the breakup? Have you guys been fighting for awhile? A guy I was dating for two months broke up with me last night over the phone. I was completely numb during the conversation, and for a couple of hours afterwards. Then the flood gates opened and I literally called in sick to work and cried off and on since 6AM today. Link to comment
charity
i'd take it as a good sign. your instinct knows that he was not right for you, the relationship was not healthy and you couldn't be yourself with him. Link to comment
lykkeli
Fif - I'm sorry about your break-up. What happened to you is what I am scared of-the floodgates opening and me feeling that break up pain eventually. We were together for 5 months but it was a significant romance for both of us. It definitely beat out my 2 year relationship as being the best. There was fighting going on for awhile, but we were still in love when we broke it off. He was the one wanting out more than I because of one mistake I made while us being broken up the first time (don't want to say Link to comment
lykkeli
Charity - I thought this, too. Maybe my happiness has depended less on the men in my life througout the years. Because in the past, I was a much more codependent partner in most of my relationships. Link to comment
