SweetJade
There's been this guy I've been flirting with at my job, nothing really serious. We don't know each other or talk much but when we do see each other, we kind of play around with friendly bantering and teasing. I just really think he's a cute guy that is all, I won't say I'm crazy over the guy but I wouldn't mind dating him and getting to know him better. I rarely see him because we work in different departments. So today I was at the store minding my business and out of the blue he walks up to me. Once I turned around, we kind of stared at each other intently for about 5 seconds and it was an awkward gaze with us just kind of looking into each others eyes. So I said hey to break the ice and after I said that, he kind of looked at the ground ,sighed and walked off.I'm just trying to figure out what was that all about?? Was he trying to tell me that he liked me or something? Normally when we talk he doesn't seem as shy as he did today... Should I address him on this when I see him again? Link to comment
mouseno4
Without knowing the details of your conversations, as a flat out guess he either wanted a reaction out of you, different to what you gave him, or he instantly lost interest on the spot. (or lost his nerve/guts/courage which I doubt according to what you said) Link to comment
Lamour detruit
He was thinking about taking you on a date and the sigh was meant as a..I find you attractive sigh. Can't believe you didn't pick up on that. Trust me on this one, I'm a psychic. Link to comment
mouseno4
LOL I would never have said it was "sigh I find you attractive" sigh if such a thing even exists. Made me crack up in the shop I'm in (how embarrassing). Link to comment
elcie
This is just my guess......maybe he is also wondering if you are interested in him; he gave you a significant gaze to see how you would react, and you answered with a neutral "Hey!" The sigh could have been one of frustration because he still doesn't know how he stands, so he chickened out and didn't say anything more.......???? Link to comment
SanSerif
He's playing a game with you. When you two held a gaze it was an awkward moment, but a held gaze nonetheless, which is engaging, sexy, and i-dare-you-ish. He sighed because you were the first to say something and break the stare, and you therefore lost the game. Next time, make sure he's the one to break the moment. Then you can look at your toes, sigh, walk away, and he'll have to think up a new game. Link to comment

Alezia
I've never got why people stare into your eyes for so long. It makes me somewhat uncomfortable, even if I am attracted to the person. Link to comment
agatha
alezia, couldn't agree more. @SweetJade plz tell me if you ever find the answer to that. I'm more or less on the same situation here, btw. the guy from this topic ( ) now comes every monday to my classroom and stays at the door listening to me singing/playing. usually people from the department will simply get in the room and watch it, we even have a couch on each room for that. when I stare back, he stays; if I say anything, he leaves. what in the world is that supposed to mean?
