tripped
Haha this sounds ridiculous, but hear me out. I met this girl last week, and have been talking to her and hanging out with her non-stop. We is pretty, funny, intelligent, and one of the most upfront and honest people I have ever met in my life. We have been hitting it off like crazy, and on Saturday she spent the night, and we hung out all day Sunday... Around 9pm we got on the topic of old jobs, and she told me that a few years ago she worked in a pet store. There was a hamster there that would bite her every day, drawing blood, and would attack co-workers and customers. One day, she said not really knowing why, she put the hamster in a bad and smashed it against a wall. I was shocked! She said she still feels horrible about it, and that she killed it that way because she couldnt think of any other way to make it quick, but jeez. I mean, I've never been in that situation, but that seems kinda crazy lol. It doesn't make sense, but I can't help but wonder why she would do that! This seems like something strait out of Seinfield, but I just have to put this out there and see what others think! Should I just except this as a funny story, or is this like a sign that she has serious issues? Remember this happened years ago and she seems absolutely sane otherwise. Link to comment
mouseno4
I once 'murdered' a magpie. I hit it with the car and whilst still alive, its wings were broken and bleeding. I knew there was no hope for it so i got out my pocket knife, whacked it on the head and put in on the side of the road. That was out of mercy. Link to comment
ToF
Should I just except this as a funny story, or is this like a sign that she has serious issues? Um ... The latter. 110%. I can't even ... No words. That's just awful. Link to comment
guynextdoor
dude she is crazy. She has angry management issue. Next thing you know she will put you in a trash bag and run you over several times because you wanted to be naughty and bite her neck. Link to comment

MissIndigo
Cruelty to animals (even if rodents) = automatic dealbreaker. And I wouldn't want that person near me ever again. Link to comment
RedDress
OMG! Scaaaaaaaaaary! There is NO way I could be friends with someone who could kill an innocent animal in cold blood. Nevermind date a person like this. She's WORSE than a bunny boiler! At least that was out of spite... She's a hamster hammer-er. Run. Seriously. Run. Link to comment
Cmaj7th
I don't get too bent out of shape about killing animals; I eat enough meat a day to feed a village and my friends who go hunting don't bother me at all. With that said, jesus christ that girl is crazy! if it were for food, mercy, self defense, or sport I wouldn't think twice about it but that was just plain cruel. A normal person would not put a small animal in a bag and bash it against a wall. She has some serious issues, STAY AWAY!!!! Link to comment
erase this face
What did she say when her employer noticed the hamster went missing? Link to comment
pinkelephant
Okay, I can understand house mice and freaking out, but it's a hamster. It's not like it has diseases or anything. What a nut. I used to kill ants though and people think I'm a psycho for it, so maybe I'm not the best judger. I still kill them when I see them in my yard. Don't ask me why, I get a strange satisfaction from it. Link to comment
mouseno4
I have had the occasional night rabbit shooting with the .22. We live on a rural property, and rabbits are more common than mice. Link to comment
Teaday
What's crazy to one person is just another day to another. To some, a hamster is nothing but a rodent, much like a mouse that we often set traps to kill. I used to know some country kids who'd shoot birds just for target practice. It doesn't sit right with me personally, but I doubt these things automatically mean they will escalate to hurting humans or even other animals. Link to comment
Ariel85
Um...if I were you, I'd sleep with one eye open. What will she do to you if you piss her off? She is bat shyt crazy, bro. RUN!!! Link to comment
Stay_home
Yeah that is kind of bizarre. It's a hamster, poor little guy he probably doesn't know any better. He just sees food and wants to eat, he doesn't know what he's doing. That's just very callous, cold and cruel to do to a defenseless animal. I just can't get over the whole sticking the little dude in a bag and slamming up against a wall. I don't get that. And that just shows you how capable she is of losing control of herself when she gets angry. Link to comment

tripped
Haha wow I didn't expect so many responses. I know what you all mean, I couldn't believe my ears when she told me. The first thing I said to her was "that's the kind of crazy it takes to chop a guy's penis off!" But here's the thing. Her bosses at the pet store would apparently have to kill animals all the time. I asked her if her bosses told her to do it, but she didn't get to answer the question, I think something happened and she got off topic. I would definitely be thinking "oh she's crazy and this is a sign she's a killer!" if she had confessed to me that she secretly liked it, but she said she felt awful and still thinks about it years later. I don't know, I can't just write her off, she seems really great otherwise, as bad as that sounds! I just want to know more about it! Should I bring it up again? Link to comment
guynextdoor
She's a cereal killer. The special prize in my cheerios box is a body part... Link to comment
Mustachio
Nah not a red flag... unless you are interested in dating potential future serial killers. Heh... I dunno, you just gotta see how you feel about it and go based on that. You could always try dating her for a little while and see if its a one time incident or just the tip of the iceberg. Ariel85
Yeah - I don't think putting a hamster in a bag and smashing him against a brick wall is on the approved euthanasia list. Go ask PETA. Link to comment
ToF
If you insist on talking to her more (I'd be running for the hills), then YES bring it up to her. Ask her exactly why she did it. That IS NOT the way to euthanize an animal. I don't care how many animals her bosses "had to kill" ... It was NOT the right way to do it. Link to comment
mouseno4
I read about this russian women who could lift a couple kilos. Whilst not using arms or legs (i will let you guess what part of her body she used). You sure this girl aint russian? Link to comment

90_hour_sleep
at least she had the balls to tell you something that she feels awful about...and paints her in an awful light. balls. sounds more like reactive behaviour to be honest. wasn't really premeditated murder by the sounds of things. and not like she's well on her way to becoming 'Dexter' or something. i remember camping with my family one time. the crows were always up early...REALLY early. driving everyone completely batty. one morning...after an hour or so of incessant squawking...there's a gunshot. we poked our heads out of our tents...and there's the guy in the site next to us with a handgun. yah...not cool really. nothing to be condoned...but in the grand scheme of things? i dunno. i remember thinking he was a bit nuts...but that was before i grew a pair and learned to own up to the fact that i've done lots of stupid things in my life...and will continue doing stupid things as long as i continue to live. people do stupid things without thinking...all the time. it's kind of the theme of humanity. and then we go on these little self-righteous tirades thinking other people are more crazy because they did something a little bit stupider. i know i feel a bit better about being stupid when i see that other people are just as stupid. so i guess that makes a world of sense. i'll agree...in this instance...this reaction is absurd. as far as f***ed up things go...that's pretty twisted. but it's really just another piece of reactive behaviour. whatever. really. whatever. maybe reserve judgement until you have the juicy details.
