Mr.Mister
My best friend is a 21 year old woman. Last year, she decided to get braces. Now, she is finding it very hard to find a decent guy to like her. I think it is because of her braces, but I have not said anything to her. I realize how important teeth are to people, especially when meeting someone for the first time. I don't care so much about that kind of thing, but I know a lot of people that do. I just try to reassure her and tell her to focus on her schoolwork instead of guys, for now. She's always so sad because she can't find a decent guy. What should I tell her to make her happier? Should I tell her that I think it might be her braces and she just needs to be patient until they come off, do I just keep on doing what I'm doing, or something else? Thanks in advance! mouseno4
I will let you in on a little quirk of mine, that even i cant understand. I find girls with bracers really attractive. I cant explain it, but ive even specifically zoned straight into them when i meet a girl at the supermarket or something. One of my first comments is how i like coloured bracers. Maybe it has to do with imperfection... yep that one come out of nowhere. Perhaps i like the idea of what sensations would come from making out with a girl with them? LOL i dont know. It makes no sense i know, but that is just me. /sigh There used to be this girl at the local supermarket working at the register, she was hot and her bracers made me feel like she was even hotter. Made me able to pluck up the courage to speak to her. (though not quite enough to ask her out, but this was a while ago) Link to comment
DreamSeller
I am in my 20's and just got braces. I hate it cause it makes it so hard to eat, but I feel like I get hit on even more now than I did before. I don't think it has anything to do with the braces. It probably has more to do with me dressing up more and stuff like that. I don't think guys would shine away just because a girl has braces. Link to comment
mouseno4
To be honest, it is kinda embarrassing liking a girl even more because she has bracers. /findsholetocrawlin Link to comment

bulletproof
Did she attract guys before she got braces? What makes you think this is the only factor? Link to comment
jengh
I think it's great she got them. I find good teeth to be an incredibly attractive trait and she's doing something to ultimately better her appearance. Personally, I would have opted for the invisalign at that age, but her choice. Link to comment
FairyGodmother
I'm not sure it's worth hurting her feelings (because that's probably what's going to end up happening) over a physical trait that is only temporary. Link to comment
greywolf
The only time braces ever bothered me is when they were on an awkward person. Link to comment

Mr.Mister
Now that this girl has braces, she seems younger than she really is. She's trying to meet guys in her college classes, but they probably think she's in high school or something. The only guys that have been interested were perverted guys that just wanted to get in her pants. She is looking for a potential husband, not a one night stand. Ok, I will not say anything to her, and just wait for the time to pass. I think she gets them off in about a year.. Link to comment
xiRoCb294
Aww, just tell her to be patient. Braces will be worth it in the end! I had them on for two years but the end result is definitely worth it! Link to comment
