herpes? razor bumps? what???

Hi everyone!

So, I shaved my bikini area last Saturday for the first time ever, since pool season is here. After I shaved though, I got all these little red bumps that itched and hurt. I put neosporin and some anti itch stuff on it and it got a little better. But then stupidly enough I shaved AGAIN on Tuesday when it grew back sorta spikey. Then I bought some Bikini Zone stuff and I started using that and neosporin. Anyways, it sort of got better but I think it's getting worse now. They were just small red bumps but now I have like five or six bigger bumps that are sore and red. Are these ingrown hairs or what? is this herpes??! I've only had two sex partners and these bumps never showed up until now, after I shaved....

HELP!! What do I do? It's been almost a week and the bumps are still here! They don't itch as much, but the bigger bumps hurt...

I'll put money on razor burn. When you shave down there for the first time, all hell breaks loose haha. The first time I shaved, I freaked out too (even though at that time I'd never had sex)... stop shaving for awhile, the bumps should go away.

it sounds like razor burn that's gotten infected and now you have some 'pimples.' leave it alone.

i prefer to wax, for this reason.

I have thought about doing this at home but then I Get that horrible mental image of me sitting on the tub and ribbing the wax strip off, screaming, scaring my mom, and falling back into the bathtub.

100% it's shaving rash/ingrown hairs.

Most strippers/dancers shave with the grain whereas we're taught to go against the grain to get a smoother shave, going with means more shaving daily but you won't get as much irritation. Your best bet is waxing and or epilation - ouchy! But you get used to it an it looks amazing.

Fact, you need to exfoiliate AND moisturise. Most people think that exfoliation will stop the problem but it's actually the moisturising that softens the skin enough for new hair to break through thus stopping the ingorwn hair problems. There are ingrown hair lotions you can buy that are meant to be very good but keep it in mind in the future!

One reason I'd rather pay for a professional wax! Much much better!

Nce to see you back x
