Whats the right thing to do!!!

So i met this great guy in November and we've been hanging out about 2 to 3 times a week. We have spent NYE together and he has always been the one looking for me to hang out. He is very attentive and even surprised me with Elton John tickets the other day. The set back is that he got out of a 9 year "off and on" relationship and has been single since Feb. of last year. He told me he was previously engaged abut 2 years ago and aside from that I really dont know much about his ex.

 

So here is my dilema... Him and I havent established where we stand or what we are, and I feel like he should. I slept by him last night and when he was in the shower i decided to go through his phone ( which i regret so much) and saw a text that he sent out to a girl... they were these longn paragraphs and no response from her and he had sent this out on sunday. I don't even remember what exactly the msgs said, i drew a blank and my eyes went blurry and the only thing i remember from the msgs is a line that said".... I can keep you warm in this snow ; )"... this was followed by a lot more stuff.So i've been thinking to talk to him about "us" and were we stand bc i simply don't want a casual fling, and want to hear from him where he thinks or where he would like this to go.

 

 

Do you think i am doing the right thing by taking control of the situation? I am so torn and would really like some help!!!

I would probably talk to him about where it's going. Two months is long enough in my opinion to make a decision, either to get more serious or to stop dating. I think people should be able to decide what they want in that period of time. Time for "the talk"!

I agree.. although it makes me kind of sad because all along i was hopeful that he would initiate this conversation . However, at this point I just want to know so I am not wasting my time and most importantly investing my emotions into nothing.
