Pill to delay period?

I'm going away for the weekend with my bf in a few weeks, but due on my period at that time. I don't use any contraceptive pills at the moment. I've heard that the doc can prescribe noristherone to delay periods, but does this increase/decrease the chance of pregnancy? If anyone has used it before, does it work and any unpleasant side effects?
