truffles.noel
I’ve been going out with my boyfriend for three months now. He used to live 5 hrs. away from my town and now he works and lives in my town. The thing is – I don’t like one of his friends here. He smokes weed with his friend and it just really turns me on. Today, I called him and you can tell he was stoned. It literally made me very upset and his friend gabbed about some crap in the background on what my boyfriend’s past is. I let him go since I can’t stand to see him do weed or smoke cigarettes. True, I did experiment on weed last year. However, after three months – I’ve quit and I hate the smell or the feeling of it. I am also turned off by cigarettes or seeing someone smoke. I’ve seen many of my friend’s parents suffer and die from cancers – lung, breast, etc. – thus, smoking is one big turn off for me. The question is: If I did weed before or have smoked cigarettes before, why am I very upset that my boyfriend smokes weed and cigarettes sometimes? Can someone care to give their two cents? Thank you much *sigh* Link to comment
robot20
I just think smoking in general is gross and a complete turn off in my eyes. My ex was an occasional cigarette smoker and i just sat down with her and talked to her about it. She quit not only for me but for herself as well. Link to comment

Many times we want our partner to feel the same way we feel about certain things (especially when it's something we feel strongly about), and it can trigger some insecurities when they don't feel the same way we do.
