I am going to the Bahamas on a 3 day cruise!

It is my first vacation in a long time, and it is my very first vacation with my boyfriend.

Any prior vacations I had were always with my family and they were so stressful and chaotic situations with always horrible arguments and ugliness. That is why for a long time I haven't been on a vacation and I never get excited about vacations.

Now I am slowly getting excited.

I just wish I wasn't this overweight going so I could enjoy it more.... Oh well, lesson learned. Hopefully for my next trip I will be at a better weight and health condition so I can enjoy myself more. That is late July so I have more time to prepare.

Yea!! Oh what fun!! Be sure to let yourself relax. And let the staff cater to you!! And if you happen to run into a hot, half naked, tanned, muscled and gorgeous bahaman, then stuff him in your suitcase and ship him to me!!!

Um.... her boyfriend might wonder why the suitcase is sooooo heavy....LOL

The Bahamas is all about the beaches and all that outdoor fun, which if you have concerns about your weight, I can see why you might have a hard time getting excited to go. Don't carry the thoughts of your past experiences on vacations into this one.

Thanks guys. And yes I can't help but feel this horrible anxiety every time I go on a trip now. It is because every time we went somewhere my dad used to blow up at us really bad so it was a horrifying experience. We always went at the crack of dawn and he never told us what time we were leaving so we would always be 'late' no matter what! It was horrible. Even just a few years ago it happened again. Every time I am going on a trip I get this horrible feeling in my stomach I literally feel like vomiting

Congrats on the vacation! Sounds like a blast!! Don't let past bad vacations mar this experience for you hike! Also don't let your body image bother you either. Screw it, you are going somewhere where no one knows you, I say throw on a string bikini and get out there, who gives a donkey doody what anyone else thinks? This is your chance to break the curse of past bad vacations and prove to yourself that great vacations can be had! Find a cute cabana boy and have the time of your life!

It is really more about me feeling comfortable/flexible/healthier than worrying about what people think or how I look in a bikini.

but yes I will try to have fun and enjoy it for the first time in my life.

I can totally understand that, I'm 19 months out from having a baby and still have a belly and quite a bit of extra weight in my caboose, and now with swimming weather here I'm none to eager to whip out the bathing suit. But then I look around at the 70 year old guys in the Speedos, the 40-some odd year old women that look like a saddlebag from too much sun, and all the other people that look just as bad, if not worse, and they don't seem concerned, so I'm not! LOL Your body is what it is, I jsut hope how you feel doesn't hamper your adventure!
