Got an invite today in the mail, a friends getting married, party is on Memorial Day I know they are strapped for cash, but wondering what's the good amount.

Ticket is $15.00

Plenty of 50/50 raffles there.

2nd time for both.

We're friends, but not close.

Ideas?

This a party for the two of them, and I believe they are having a civil ceremony.

 

I'll be bringing a card with cash as a wedding gift.

 

Ticket and raffle money go to them also. In lieu of a shower, stag, or wedding party.

Honestly, I think whatever you can afford and whatever you feel comfortable with. I've spent anywhere from 50 to 300 dollars for a wedding gift, depending on what I could afford at the time and how close I was to the person (and how much my parents were willing to help me out, LOL!). Especially given that it's quite informal/casual, there is no super strict etiquette of how much you have to give.
