Wayfara
It's funny, I made a thread just a few days ago worried about his health (nasty possible cancerous thing growing on his upper lip but he being too drunk to care), and today he's in the hospital. Someone called me while my mother was away asking for her, I said she would be home in an hour. When she had come home that someone called again and told her my father had been taken to the hospital by ambulance. My mother called the hospital, but they wouldn't give any information because he's not identified. They have his wallet and everything but their say they can't give out information until he has woken up and confirmed it, or been identified in person. All we know is that he's still unconcious, and that the person who called the ambulance thought it was acute alcohol intoxication. The hospital begged my mother to come and identify him. She called a friend to drive her. I begged my mother to let me come with her, but she wouldn't let me. She said I didn't care about dad. I used to tell my mother to divorce my father becuse he's abusive to her, and she's resentful about that I think (she loves him despite his behaviour). I care about dad and would be very sad if he died, I just think he can be very tiresome and that he has severe anger issues, it doesn't mean I don't love him. I'm alone at home now, with the dog. I'm so scared she'll call and say he's dead. Does anyone know how dangerous acute alcohol intoxication is? Link to comment

Wayfara
I've read some on the internet about it now, seems like a few hundred people die of it every year in my country, but that of many thousands of cases, so the precentage that die isn't very high I think, so he'll probably survive I hope. He's obese, a smoker and he has abused other substances too, so I don't know his general health. But he doesn't have any diseases I know of. I don't think my mother has fed her mobile, my calls don't come through. I don't really know how I feel at the moment, it's the first time something like this has happened. Thanks for listening. Wayfara
They think he has taken other things with the alcohol. He was unconcious many hour, but now he's in a deep sleep. They said the worst that could happen was that the liver would stop functioning and he would need a liver transplantation, but now the values are going down, so they think his liver won't take damage.
