My Current Weight.

Recommended Posts

I weighed myself yesterday at the gym. I'm officially at my lowest weight in 4 years; 146 pounds. I've lost 22 pounds.

This is the most challenging thing I've ever done. Still have another 16 pounds to go.

What kinds of things do you do to stay motivated? [ rewards etc. ]? I feel like if I break up my weight loss into smaller goals I'll achieve my ultimate goal faster. Right now I have no deadline, really.

Congrats!

I'm staying motivated by picturing all of the opportunities that will open up to me again once I've shed the weight. I use to be in really good shape and I was able to be involved in a lot more activities. I miss that...remembering those things helps me stay focused.

Congrats, Binoo!

I'm with IntotheWild. I was an athlete in high school and college, and until about 5 years ago never went above 115 pounds. Now I'm like, "Yuck! Where did all this come from?!?" I've gained about 35 pounds, and the most I can get off is like 10 of it. No matter what I do, I can't get below that. Not that 140 is bad for my height, it's just that I'm just now getting used to having curves where I never had them before.

And what I'm finding out now is that it really sucks to have to watch your weight and what you eat--and it's HARD. I want my 20 year old metabolism back!

Although eventually you have to accept the fact that you're not 20 anymore, and it might not ever all come back off. But I'm less worried about the weight and more worried about the muscle tone and just looking slimmer.
