Binoo
I weighed myself yesterday at the gym. I'm officially at my lowest weight in 4 years; 146 pounds. I've lost 22 pounds. This is the most challenging thing I've ever done. Still have another 16 pounds to go. What kinds of things do you do to stay motivated? [ rewards etc. ]? I feel like if I break up my weight loss into smaller goals I'll achieve my ultimate goal faster. Right now I have no deadline, really. Link to comment
IntotheWild
Congrats! I'm staying motivated by picturing all of the opportunities that will open up to me again once I've shed the weight. I use to be in really good shape and I was able to be involved in a lot more activities. I miss that...remembering those things helps me stay focused. Link to comment
Happy Bunny
Congrats! I'm staying motivated by picturing all of the opportunities that will open up to me again once I've shed the weight. I was an athlete in high school and college, and until about 5 years ago never went above 115 pounds. Now I'm like, "Yuck! Where did all this come from?!?" I've gained about 35 pounds, and the most I can get off is like 10 of it. No matter what I do, I can't get below that. Not that 140 is bad for my height, it's just that I'm just now getting used to having curves where I never had them before. And what I'm finding out now is that it really sucks to have to watch your weight and what you eat--and it's HARD. I want my 20 year old metabolism back! Although eventually you have to accept the fact that you're not 20 anymore, and it might not ever all come back off. But I'm less worried about the weight and more worried about the muscle tone and just looking slimmer. Link to comment
Cognitive_Canine
Wow, Binoo. How good for you! I think you should treat yourself by getting a new haircut, shoes, or outfit with your new figure. Happy thoughts make it easier. You can try changing up your workout or diet a bit to keep things fresh. I'm impressed and you should be proud. Keep it up! Link to comment

anu1560
I would also buy a nice dress 1-2 size smaller than me and keep trying. And yes, treat yourself to those once in a while bad food also. By the way loosing 22 pounds is a great achievement. Keep it up. Link to comment
ghost69
how to stay motivated? make it a part of your lifestyle. forget the motivation, just make it a habit. plus, you are losing weight. from the sound of it you like the way you feel and look, that should be motivation enough. Link to comment
