not texting back?

Heyy! My boyfriend isnt the type to show emotions and were in a long distance relationship, he lives 1 hour away from my house. Often he texts me: I love you . I know he loves me but if i text back like what youre doing.. he often dont text back and I dont want to retext again cause i dont want to sound possessive. Should I retext him saying : why dont u text back? or just dont retext.. it seems like if he doesnt text back, its nothing for him..

 

what do you think?should i just call him?

I say just call him. Cell phones make things so easy these days (I used to pay OUTRAGEOUS minute charges on a landline to talk to my bf in college).
