Overheard something private: What to do??

I accidentally heard my roomies boy-friend tell her something private about himself. I came out of my room in time for him to tell her about this one thing that I won't mention on here. They were in her room with the door open. What do I do now? He and she know I heard it. My face tells all. I won't tell anyone. How long will the awkwardness last as he staying here another week?? I can't even look at him.

Just tell your roommate you're sorry you overheard but you didn't mean to, and that she can trust you to keep that information private.

 

Then don't mention it every again. It will blow over eventually.

Yeah I told her I was sorry. And she was sorry that she didn't close the door and for putting me and him and her in an awkward situation.

That's really about all you can do. Let her know that you'll keep the secret in confidence. Try to act normal around him, or make yourself scarce. Sorry...it must be pretty awkward. You're doing the right thing.

Just assure her the information isn't going to leave your apartment's walls and just let the whole thing blow over.
