Boyfriend's birthday coming up...

I'm not sure what to get my boyfriend for his birthday.. I have some ideas, but I'm not set on what I'm going to do for sure. I'm hoping someone can help me out.

 

I've been with my boyfriend for 7 months, but we've had some history before then. We've been together before and broken up, but this is the first time that I'll be able to celebrate his birthday with him.

 

In general, my boyfriend is hard to shop for. Even for Christmas, etc, I'll ask him what he wants, and he says he doesn't want anything. If he wants something, he'll get it himself, etc. A few days ago, just me spending time with him..he considered it his birthday gift. But does he really mean that??

 

I also want to know what you guys out there think. That if my boyfriend says he doesn't want any gift for his birthday, does he really mean that or...? I get kinda stumped when it comes to him sometimes.

 

Anyway, here are my gift ideas. Let me know what you think!:

 

- A wallet from Coach (He's mentioned it twice to me, in the past, that he was thinking of getting one, so I thought it'd be a good idea if I were to get him one. The only thing I'm worried about is what if he already shopped for one earlier this week? I haven't seen him this week yet, and he told me he went shopping a few days ago and bought a lot of stuff..from Express.. but I guess it's possible that he shopped at other places too. I'm also worried that he won't like the one I pick out for him.)

 

- an itouch car charger/mp3 player - since his current one broke. I'd wanna get him the same one that he has now.. or maybe another one that's better. I'm not really good at technology, but I know he wants the one that only has one cord. There are others out there that have like 2 cords, etc..but the one he wants only has one cord and it can charge the ipod and play music at the same time. I think the one he had before was made by Belkin.

 

- something Iron Man related - we are gonna see the midnight showing of Iron Man 2, which also comes out two days before his birthday. I was thinking Iron Man playing cards?? If those exist, but I don't know where to get them. I was thinking of that, because he likes to play poker with his cousins all the time lol

 

- something poker related, or a poker set - because yeah, he likes poker.

 

- an iHome - I know he doesn't have one..but right now this is at the bottom of my list, because he doesn't normally listen to his itouch indoors. It's usually always when he's driving.

 

- a picture frame of us - This is actually the idea that my mom gave me. I'd probably do that at one point, but for a birthday gift it seems to simple? We don't have many pictures together anyway, so I'd have to take more pictures of us...

 

So yeah.. those are my ideas so far. If you guys have any other ideas, please let me know! And also again, please let me know what you think when he says that I don't have to get him anything. Even though he says that, I really do want to get him something, because he's always doing things for me and I feel like I can never measure up. I should also add, that for my birthday, which was about last month, he got me a Coach purse. Yeah...... anyway, please respond! Let me know what you think. And thanks for reading.

EDIT So I can't get him the first 2 options anymore. We went shopping this weekend, and he bought a wallet already. And he also got a new radio installed for his car.. and he got an ipod charger/player with it -_- so yeah. Thinking of a gift will be harder than I thought.

I like option 2. Clearly it's something he wants because he bought one, but clearly it's something he needs because it broke.

I like the idea of a picture frame. If you feel that its too simple you could pair it with a gift card to his favorite store or even a gift card from coach so he could pick out the wallet he likes.

So far, I think I'm gonna get him.. or make him a cake. I dunno what kind of cake yet. Probably a fruit cake with lots of strawberries. I know he doesn't like chocolate... but with cake in general, I don't know what kind he prefers. We don't really eat a lot of cake.. just candy lol. And um.. as for a gift, I'm not sure yet. I guess I can do a picture frame, but we really don't have many pictures together at all. I think I wanna get him something Iron Man related but I don't know what yet, and I don't want to get him something Iron Man related that seems like... too childish.

Since my bf is a complete bore and has no hobbies other than working, sleeping and watching sports, I am going to get him a Phillies personalized tshirt. It will have his last name and his favorite number. He had mentioned it long before but I never bought him one.

 

Valentines Day, I bought him a gift certificate to get his windows tinted.

Yeah, pretty much everything I wanted to get my boyfriend, he already got like.... THIS week. All quick, haha. I'm seeing him this week to watch Iron Man 2... so maybe I'll snap a quick photo of us to frame... I'm also thinking of getting 2 of these : link removed

 

and make one look like him..and one look like me. I'm thinking of going to Urban Outffiters cause I saw them there.. plus, he already has like 2 or 3 of them in his room. So I think it'd be cute to make a "couple" one of us.

 

It just sucks cause his birthday is a day before my Mom's birthday... and I'm guessing that we might celebrate my Mom's birthday on his birthday, because my mom will have to work on her actual birthday. So, if I don't see my boyfriend on his actual birthday, I'll have to see him before hand too. Which means I'll have to be done with my gift by then. Ahhh. Lol, hopefully I'll be done in a few days.

I was going to go with the charger after he already bought himself a wallet.. but this weekend, he installed a new radio for his car and got a new charger as well.
