being organized

Recommended Posts

I need a convenient way to figure out how to stay organized with my schoolwork, and know what's due, and when.

I was thinking of buying a planner, but those have never worked for me in the past. Maybe I just need to be more diligent about it if I decide to get one.

I have to physically write it down, if I put it on my phone I forget. That's just me but sometimes I'll have sticky notes on my windshield (weird I know) if there's something I absolutely cannot forget. My ADD doesn't help either

I would probably prefer planners but find it bulky and just end up using sticky notes.

I'm with you on the planners, I have bought so many of these over the years. They get stuffed in my bag never to see the light of day again! LOL

I simply use a calendar on the wall at home for my "things I can't forget", such as bills, doctors appointments, daycare notes for Littlepants and the like. It hangs right by my computer so I see it every time I sit down. Plus I use a really bright color ink (like hot pink or red) on the calendar so I can't miss it.

YES! The sticky notes are the ONLY things that work for me!! I plaster them everywhere if I need to remember something. I always post them on my steering wheel, on my door, and on my fridge. Sometimes bathroom mirror.

Make sure you put them in places it is absolutely necessary to look at, and if you can use neon colors so they stand out, it is all the better.

Tape them to your toothbrush, your deodarant, your cell phone, etc.

I like to use the big desktop calendar, that shows the whole month on one page. You have enough room to write stuff. My DD19 uses it for college, and she color codes things. Like pink highlighter for tests, yellow for study group sessions, blue for chapters to read, etc.

It's easy to balance things out that way, and also see far enough in the future so you're prepared.

I don't really have troubles with remembering, but my mother always used a calendar to keep track of things that she looked at multiple times per day. Seemed to help because she could be a little scatterbrained sometimes (I mean this in the best way possible).
