This is a weird question, there is no category for sometimes one and sometimes the other. Tampons work better for sports (especially water sports), pads for lazy times or really heavy flow, and both for times when absolute protection is required.

What I'm curious about is what you use most often. If you use more pads, then choose pads. I was going to put both, but I think that most people probably use a combination of both. So, I'm curious as to age and what you use more of.

Pads are the single most horrifying thing on earth, in my honest opinion. I cannot stand how unsanitary, bulky and uncomfortable they are. I stopped wearing them at 14 because I felt like I was wearing a diaper.

Tampons can be great, you just have to find one that is comfortable. They aren't for everyone, I'm sure.

I have to agree. But as I've gotten older, I cant find a tampon that is really comfortable. Most seem too thick and if I get the slender ones, they seem too think.

Younger, tampons. Older, pads. Now, thanks to a uterine lining ablation I'm free!

Hmm... They need to come out with some different sizes, then! I hope that doesn't happen to me (though it probably will) because I loathe pads.

That panic feeling of sleeping with one eye open wondering if there will be a mishap?? No thankies! lol

Tampons all the way. I had to use the thin maxi pads until I lost my virginity at 18..[i had a very thick hymen with a very tiny opening, tmi sorry]..and tampons are seriously so much better than pads to me, I don't know how I survived without them.

I'm really not looking forward to the 'pads only' rule after I have Hayden..but oh well.

you can't use tampons after you have a baby????

I use a combo of pads at night and tampons during the day.

I think for 6 weeks you're not allowed to have anything inserted into the vag..so for postpartum bleeding, I have to use pads.

Just wait until you see the huge gigantic pads that they put on you after you give birth. lol The things literally wrap under you from your back to your tummy. oh, you're going to LOVEEE those.

I can see that point, Annie. As long as you remove them regularly it is fine. I like to feel dry and clean, pads don't allow that.

Wow this thread is gross LOL. Love it.

I also find I don't think about my period as often because I use tampons. I don't really remember that I'm on it, so I'm less cranky hehe.

The pads these days are so slim. I like Always pads, the super thin ones. I feel like it's more unsanitary to keep a tampon in there and not let things come out.

Yeah, that's what I use. The really thin ones. I like those. When I was in my 20's tampons seemed to fit really well. But it's almost like my vagina has gotten skinnier or something, as the tampons I used to use actually hurt, as they are too thick, but the slender ones arent thick enough. Me thinks I'll stick with pads.
