NaturalJ
Okay, I haven't gone to my doctor about this because I've been going a lot the last 2-3 months for depression. I don't want to sound like I have all these issues so I haven't actually talked to him about my hyperhidrosis. I've always had the problem, but just lived with it. It is getting so bad now that I am unable to do my daily routines and work. I work in a health care facility which involves putting on latex gloves, and it is rather difficult when I have sweaty hands. And there are obviously about 100 different embarrassing scenarios I could tell such as shaking hands or trying to hit on a girl but the sweat is too bad. My hyperhidrosis mainly affects my feet and hands (entire hand including the palm and even goes to the top of my hand around my fingernails). I also get occasional hot flashes like 4-5 times a day maybe more depending on the day. They are short like one minute flashes, and I've mentioned it one time to my doctor and he jokingly asked me if I was going through "menopause." I didn't take it personally, but he thought it was just associated with anxiety. So before I go make a formal appointment for this, I know my doctor is going to tell me to try an over-the-counter medication. I've looked randomly while at Wal-Mart and didn't see anything except antiperspirant deodorants. What medications work specifically for hyperhidrosis and what stores hold them? Link to comment
