Confused about what direction to take in my life..

I'm confused about myself in some areas.I'm confused about who I am and what I really want in life. I've felt this way for years.. I've basically lost interest in everything I was passionate about when I was younger. I'm 23 years old and I haven't really accomplished anything. I'm still at home with my parents, much to my disliking and I'm truly scared about being on my own and being independent. I'm not in college even though I'm thinking about going back.. I really don't know what I would be going to college for to be honest. There's nothing that really is catching my interests. I'm trying to find a job to at least get on my feet but I haven't had any luck with that so far.. So what's the best option about someone who is going through an identity crisis?? What should I do to find myself and figure out what I want in life? That way I can go to school or do what I'm passionate about? Because I'm honestly confused right now..

I find that confusion about direction usually means that I have been, or am, pushing too hard in some direction.

The remedy is usually to ease up on the pushing and more start appreciating, showing gratitude, for what is here already.

With this 'change of direction' comes more clarity and a seeing of more that is offered. One continues to appreciate offerings... and this gives direction....

With best wishes,

Sign up for a community college and just start taking basic courses. You have a lot of them to get through before you have to take any 'special' courses in a preferred field. That'll give you a good 2-4 years of working 30-40 hours a week and still making your way through school. If your parents are letting you stay, make the best of it!

I worked full time right out of high school and went to night school. It took me 15 years to get my degree, but I was determined to get it! Thank goodness I did!

If that doesn't sound appealing, sign up for Peace Corps or the Armed Forces for a couple years, and REALLY do something worthwhile. It'll give you time to think and it will help you turn into a valuable young adult with something to offer.
