Chantal87
I have been in my current job for over a year. I am a temporary employee meaning that this job is not permanent so I am filling in. I have been stressed to the point of crying, feeling like I cannot do anything right at all, and my self esteem has lowered drastically. Its with one person in perticular that makes me feel this way, but also theres too much stress. When I leave for the day I dont want to return. It has made me actually want to quit my job *(instead of sticking it out waiting for another job position to come up that I can apply to and HOPE I get an interview). I almost just want to leave and go back to school and get a part time job somewhere else. But that will almost be backtracking because the job im in is Office work, which is what I went to school for. Is it really worth it to be this unhappy at my job, or go back to school for something else and try all over again. That means no more 20$ an hour and no more benefits...](*,) Link to comment
hexaemeron
If you want to let that person causing you stress win. If you want to be poor. Sure. Do that. If it were me, I would stick it out until you secure other work. Life isn't fair and you can't just crumble and quit everytime something isn't optimal. Link to comment
Chantal87
Yes but I also dont want to go through life so young as I am and hate my job, thats not a way to be. Ever hear those people that say " I hate my job" everyday? Yep thats me. I try not to let it bother me but it does, so I guess Ill just keep working out to get my frusterations out and stick my foot in my mouth for the time being? Link to comment

"I hate being poor." "I hate having no options." "I can't pay my rent." "They turned the power off today." I know it sucks, but yeah, you're a grownup now. No one's going to magically come along and say "This isn't fair, let's fix this and get you a cupcake, okay?" Suck it up, and definitely find other work. The only person who can handle this situation in a way that will make you feel better is you. Link to comment
alli
I would talk with your supervisor before just up & leaving. Think carefully about how you say it first so you don't come off sounding whiney. And before you talk to him/her, you should think about the top 3 things with this job that are causing you such a large amount of stress & a couple different options for each of those 3 stressors that the company can do to relieve this stress. Viable solutions- not "just fire that guy" who makes things difficult for you. You could even write out here what exactly makes this job so difficult for you & maybe we could help you figure out easy things that you or the company can do to modify it. Link to comment
Chantal87
I could ask my Human Resources to see if they can transfer me to another position, if one comes available. I just dont want to do this position anymore. And its not that I am lazy, or am whining because I cant take it. Would that possibly be an option? Or should I stick it out until August and then after my (unpaid leave I am taking) ask to not return to the same position. thats 3 more months of this garbage to deal with... Link to comment
Kumatora
I could ask my Human Resources to see if they can transfer me to another position, if one comes available. Chances are, HR won't listen to that request. Like you said, you are a temp worker and are just filling out a vacant space. You are covering a need within the company because they can pull that string. Until you have a permanent job, meaning a contract with these people, you can't transfer. You're having a problem with one person. I'm a temp worker too and I truly envy you. I am having issues with more than one person and they are teenagers with criminal records or poor academic records. Multiply one and fifty together and I have it much worse than you. I never said "screw this job and these students" and quit. I never taken a day off either. Like Hex mentioned, I got my bills to pay and it's a tough world out there. Seriously, don't blow your bridges and tough it out. Shoot for a reference letter since it's a temp position. You're almost out anyway. Link to comment
