Decipher this...

So my ex just texted me a few moments ago when I happen to be on the site. We been broken up since 2 years ago and haven't really spoken since a year ago. Long story short, things didn't workout between us. We dated for 3 years but her family, I felt, really didn't approve of "us" and that had a dramatic effect on things between us. It got pretty bad, so I left. She did try to reconcile afterwards or "talk", but I rejected. Moved on, starting dating someone else and I then tried to reach out, not for reconcile on a relationship, but just to hear what she had to say. She then rejected and preferred to just leave things as they were so we did... this was a year ago.

Suddenly I get a text, "I'm being reviewed 4 my work clearance, u were previously listed as a reference. Just a reminder if they call. Thanks for ur assistance in this matter."

Maybe she thought I'd try to sabotage her or something, so she wanted to get a feel for what kind of response I might give. It's cool. I just thought it was kind of weird of her to send that out of the blue. Not that it really matters or anything, is she trying to see what I'm up to on the sneak tip? Or is this really just an innocent text?

sounds like just an innocent text to me. it's stricly business and she doesn't even bother to say how are you or anything other than the main point: giving you a heads up that someone might call. i wouldn't read into it at all, in fact, if you want to reply with a simple "ok no problem" that would be fine too
