Brightest Dark
Just wondering what everyone thinks about x's on comments on sites like facebook. For example, I see more and more people leave comments to each other (and me) with either x, xx, or xxx at the end. Does it actually mean anything? If you see a guy or girl you like putting xxx to other guys' comments do you think anything of it? Is it just a friend thing or does it mean they are interested/flirting with that person? I guess everyone is different - some people put it all the time just because they do whereas some people may only put an x if they like the person. But I'm just wondering what the majority think. If you liked someone and they put xx or xxx to everyone else would you care at all? Do you think there's a difference between x and xxx? Why DO people put xx at the end of every single comment? Is it just the norm in today's society? If you put xxx why do you put it? Do you only put it on some comments to some people, or all?
HouseKitten
Means very little, as far as I can tell. You have to judge it person-to-person - for example, my friend Jenny ends all her messages, regardless of recipient with an X just to show she's finished the message. I only tend to put an X for close friends.
nutbrownhare
For years, when I posted on the internet, and on my blog, I'd finish off with xxx. This was mainly because it was humorous stuff, and finishing off with a quite silly username and xxx added to the humour. I wouldn't do that on here, though! In life, I'm quite a touchy-feely person and xxx on internet posts was an extension of that. It really depends on the person.
Cognitive_Canine
I think it's just another trend that people consider cute to do. Not a big deal at all.
