Perfect Dark
I've had a headache for 7 days now. I take Paracetamol but it comes straight back after 4 hours. Does anyone know what could be causing it? Will go to my GP if it doesn't go.

metrogirl
It's hard to say because there are so many reasons why someone could have a headache. You should probably have your doctor refer you to a neurologist.
Bella20
Many reasons. Dehydration? Hormonal changes? Heat (it's getting very hot where I am, not sure where you are), and also... take Ibuprofen instead of paracetamol. Unless you have stomach issues or are pregnant. Ibuprofen 400mg. DRINK WATER (not SODA)

Jeen
Darling I think 7 days is too long, you need to go see a doctor especially with the nose bleeds. link removed
Speranza
Yes you need to get to the doctor. Apart from anything else, there is a very well-documented phenomenon where after a few days of painkillers, they actually begin to produice headaches, so they're maybe not helping at all by now. The nose bleeds coupled with the headaches isn't good, can be several things. One of them is a sinus infection. If you press on your face either side of your nose (on the cheeks) or on your forehead, you will perhaps feel things get momentarily better or worse. That indicates sinuses, and would need antibiotics or it will just get worse and worse and worse. All headaches should be taken seriously.

(can't today Bank Holiday) I woke up last night at 4am with the worse migraine I have ever had. I pressed on my face like you said and it did go away. 3boys
It may have been sinus-related. If you get another one, you might want to try a decongestant/antihistamine and see if that helps any. If it does, it might be a sinus infection and you should probably get some antibiotics because that will help it go away faster. Or, if you don't want to do that, try some steam because that will help open up your sinuses. You can just fill a sink with steaming hot water and put a towel over your head so you are creating a "tent" and breathe in the steam for a few minutes. I also know people who swear by Neti-pots, but I've never tried one.
