why do ex's get with someone that looks like you?

how annoying.. hes like an identical twin in most ways. umm why do they do that? i play music..so does he.. i had long hair for years..so does he i saw a pic of him from a side view and it looks just like meee if u put two pix of me n him side by side u would think its the same person its that bad

 

way over the ex but it just really stumps me why any ex does this. anyone want to enlighten me as to why?

Well I never saw the guy that she broke up with me for, but he was married with two kids! The next guy was short, had grey hair, crooked teeth, double chin and a busted nose, so nothing like me!!!

One of my exes does that... aparently most of her bf's look a lot like me... I never noticed until our daughter mentioned it one day. dunno what to think, it's meaningless to me really, Just one of those things makes ya go, heh.

yeah its just a type thing...why did they get with you? because you had the style they liked...just cause they don't like you anymore doesn't mean their style in guy is going to change.

I'm not sure why this would be surprising. As others have mentioned, many people have a 'type'. For example I have a g/f who will ONLY date drummers. I find that very restrictive, but that's her thing.

 

For me, none of my ex's looked or acted anything alike. I guess my type is a bit more obscure. lol

i certainly have a type. my string of ex's don't look alike, but their attitudes are very similar. not to be harsh, but i'd probably laugh if my ex thought i was still pinning for him just because my current beau and him have similarities that i find attractive.

Funny thing is my best friend's current bf is seriously an exact replica of her ex (looks-wise, personality-wise NOT at all). Granted, it's been a year they've been together now and about 2 years since the ex and her split. But when they first started dating, everyone was flipping out about how he was seriously the ex's twin. I couldn't believe my eyes either, but these sorts of things happen haha. What matters is what's inside anyway!

My 1st ex got together with someone who friends say look like me. I find it hard to believe that we look alike, but yeah...I agree it's a type-attraction.

well one of my exes I looked exactly like the gf before...turned out he wasn't over her so you might be onto something.

umm im actually offended by her doing that. oddly enough its just to d*mn weird for me.. and no the ex didnt have a specific "type" i knew her old bf i worked with him and her they was together for like 7 yrs. i was in the time line of like 2 yrs after him and there is no resemblance physically or in terms of behavior between me and him at all.

Something similar happened to my cousin. She was with this guy for several years, they had a child together and everything. He cheated on her and eventually left her for this other girl. I never saw her myself but my cousin and others in my family were shocked when they found out who the girl was, and that she looked just like my cousin. He ended up marrying that girl. I have no explanation for it, except for coincidence I suppose.

 

I use to have a "type". I was attracted to very extroverted, out to rule the world, type guys - complete opposites of my personality. Well I got tired of getting hurt and now am visiting the other end of the spectrum. Got myself a nice introverted, humble shy guy. None of my guys looked the same, but they kinda had the same attitude. I'm so turned off by all that now. Could be something similar, only it's in the looks department for your ex.
