Jd1983
I'm planning to get invisalign soon. Does anyone have any experiences with them? Thank you. Link to comment
calorimeter
The only experience I have with invisalign is when I went in for an orthodontics consultation before I got my metal braces in 2004. I brought up invisalign. They said that they did offer those, but that they were for cases of mostly straight teeth that had one or two miniscule alignment problems. So for somebody like me who had numerous gaps between the top front six teeth and a heinous overbite, they weren't a good fit. Anyway, orthodontics don't seem to be something that require a lot of consumer review before trying. Your orthodontist will look at your teeth and determine the best method for aligning them. Just ask about the clear, removable braces in your consultation and they should be able to tell you on the spot of you're a good fit for them. The decision to use them comes down to what the professional says is necessary. Link to comment
aurevoir
Hm it depends. I used to wear braces a few years ago. My cousins have insvisalign. They are more expensive and they are not for everyone. What problems do you have though? Because I am aware that invisalign braces are for those who don't have bad teeth problems. Basically people with straight teeth and only need minor corrections. I'm just wondering if anyone had any personal experiences with them. Thanks again. Link to comment

I'm hoping the braces will eventually fix that problem. Link to comment
JackPotential
Too perfect teeth make a mockery of the human condition. Just sayin ya know? Link to comment

The underbite is noticeable if someone is speaking to me directly. Yes, I spoke to the Orthodontist, he told me I was a good candidate for invisalign, but he can't guarantee that my teeth will be completely aligned, but it would be a lot better than it is now. aurevoir
I honestly think you should just get braces, Because with some people that I know invisalign worked, but it didn't give them 100% of the best results as it would with braces. It gave them more like... 70%.........Its up to you. Im sure you'll only have them on for 6 months. Link to comment

I decided to get invisalign and already put a down payment on it, did the measurements and everything. I chose it because it was clear (vain, I know but I'm not too keen on the idea of having metal braces at this age). Also with the fact that I can remove them to eat at any time without having much restrictions on the foods I'll want to eat. I do appreciate your feedback though. Thanks again. Link to comment
renaissancewoman101
Is it really expensive? I've thought about getting Invisalign in the past. I used to have braces when I was a child but after they took them off, I was lax about wearing my retainers and my teeth shifted Link to comment

I was told it was going to be $5,500 to get them done. I'll definitely let you know if it works out though. Link to comment

GoneCrazy
The underbite is noticeable if someone is speaking to me directly. Yes, I spoke to the Orthodontist, he told me I was a good candidate for invisalign, but he can't guarantee that my teeth will be completely aligned, but it would be a lot better than it is now. I had a massive underbite and braces didn't fix it made my teeth bstaight but the top and buttoms were hitting when i closed my mouth or was chewing so i had to get surgery on both jaws, hopefully you don't have to go through the same. Personally i would go for the braces with wires, at least that way you don't have to deal with taking them out and back in, i have a retainer and its a pain. Also if the normal braces are cheaper i would go for them. Just remember brush, floss and rinse. Link to comment
