restingpieces
I burst into tears and had to hang up. I feel like my ex and my dog are happier without me in their lives, while I'm barely breathing without them. Silly, I know. But I cracked. I can't stop sobbing. Link to comment
fLuiD
When you have established a solid period of No Contact, you will stop caring about whether or not your ex is happier than you are. It will get better with time, but you have to be firm on your promise of No Contact. No using your dog as an excuse anymore, mkay? Link to comment

It will get better with time, but you have to be firm on your promise of No Contact. No using your dog as an excuse anymore, mkay? I am being firm. I didn't speak with him, I spoke with the new owner. I'm finding other outlets to express my rage for his lack of emotion. The dog is really just a weak spot that propels me into this irrational state where I'm this huge * * * * up - having failed her in providing proper care and being able to take her with me. She was a gift after a very unfortunate thing I had to do, that I'd rather not get into. Everything begins to seem wrong in my world when I think of her. Link to comment
Rob1000
As someone who lost a dog in a break up I empathise with you RP. My ex and I had two dogs, a brother and sister named Marco and Mischa. When we split, we took one dog each. I got Marco, but to this day I still miss Mischa; even more so than I miss my ex. So don't feel daft about your love for your furry friend. Love is love.
