Seraphim
It seems like something crops up every time I turn around. I went and met the principal at what will be his new school to outline what they need for a student with exceptionality transfer. I met with the resource teacher at the old school to go over my son's OSR to get what I needed from it, but the resource teacher while a great guy is a little scatter brained and I need to stay on top of him when contacting the new school. Today the present board phoned me to tell me my son needs a new hearing processing assessment because his last one was in 2006 and he may have grown out of his hearing processing disorder due to maturation. Now however this auditory assessment is not covered by health insurance. The new school called and said they want updated letters of his DX and not the one from his ped because they consider it out of date. Oh and it is running out of time for grant money....God help me..........
renaissancewoman101
Since the schools know you are moving, can they cut you a bit of leeway and let you have some time to get all the stuff/paperwork together? Since your husband is in the military and you are a military spouse/family, can you get all this testing done via military medical insurance? I have no idea if they cover it Ren, the board just told me that the provincial health insurance no longer covers it. He would need it anyway even if we did not move because his present equipment would not work logistically in high school because it is stationary equipment. I can try to find out if the military will cover it. As far as the grant money goes the school boards have it one time a year and that is now in the spring to be ready for the next year. I have to get him a referral though for this assessment and it depends on how far they are backed up and I have to drive the results of the assessments up which is a 7 hour trip back and forth. It is hard cause I have to do all this stuff alone.

The thing is she works the days I do not and I work the days she does not so that she cares for my son after school when I work and I care for my foster sister after school when my mom works.
