I haven't had a date in years. I'm as nervous as I could possibly be and those nerves are growing bigger as I type. What do I say? What do I wear? Why am I dating retarded?????

You start off with, "Hello, you look nice tonight." and take it from there. You wear clothes. Something pretty that flatters you is always a good choice. If you are going to dinner, a dress or pants are very appropriate. Of course, a smile is the most important thing you can wear. Everyone is attracted to people who smile and seem warm. It is my ninja dating secret.

I don't know where you're from but where I am, when in doubt, go with jeans and a nice top (unless you know you're going to a nice dinner, in which case a dress isn't out of place). Wear something you know you'll feel comfortable in but still attractive - don't go for anything fiddly or that you'll want to keep pulling up, or down, or wherever.

 

Try to get ready with time to spare - it's not great being nervous with time left to wait, but it beats being in a mad rush and leaving the house wondering if you remembered to pick up your keys, or if your hair is still wet at the back from not enough blow-drying, etc etc.
