Jetta
The one good thing that came from my relationship with Mo is that I'm getting myself healthier. I've gone to the gym the last two days, even though my mom who said would go with me didn't come today. My muscles are feeling it, but the scale isn't. I gained 1/2 lb. but I'm eating crapily still so I have to start really controlling that aspect. I wanted to take it slow but I need to move a little faster on the dieting aspect, 'cause exercise just isn't going to be enough obviously. I also learned about a sexual problem I wouldn't have known I had so I'm going to start supplements to help with that, hopefully in a few months I'll be a new me. I haven't been this motivated to lose weight since a highschool crush. I had gained 30 lbs after we moved and ended up losing it through diet and exercise. Yes it's my crush on Mo that's motivating me. I want to run into him and have him wish he were with the new sexy me. But hopefully by then I have a new guy. With school and working out I may not have time truthfully. I'll figure it all out eventually, but right now getting back to a normal healthy weight is my goal. If you have diet tips I suppose I could use them. Especially the chocolate problem I have. I gave up chocolate in highschool but I'm not quite that motivated. At least not yet. sidehop
Spurge yourself once a week, it's just unhealthy for anyone trying to lose weight. It's not going to kill your nutritional intake.
Cognitive_Canine
The best advice I have for you is "be patient". Don't weight yourself every day. If you are working out and eating right, stay away from the scale. It'll take months to lose your weight and that's really frustrating for a lot of people. A lot give up easily when they aren't getting the results they want. You just have to trust your healthy lifestyle is going to work and keep at it. Small changes over a long period of time is really where it is at. Replacing all your drinks (if you are a soda or latte drinker) with water is a small step that has big changes over time. Find your problem spots and put in substitutes.

What do you mean spurge yourself? Do you mean give in every once in a while? I agree with that if that's what you mean. Don;t be all-or-nothing. Sometimes you'll have a cheese danish and that's not worth giving up just because you treated yourself.
sidehop
Well when I did Body-for-Life program years ago, once a week you can 'cheat'. Many people that did the program either went all out and ate junk food or ate a slice of pizza while others kept the food intake strict. Cutting everything and anything unless you're competing in some bodybuilding contest or trying to get the lowest possible body fat down it's just not fun. Gotta enjoy the food that you love once in awhile is the way I see it
mandyc
I don't know if money is an issue or not, but sign up for a personal trainer for about 10 or so sessions. I always do this before bathing suit season, am getting started this week actually. It helps to get me going more regularly and they can show you great exercises and show you how to target specific areas you might be unhappy with. I go for awhile and that is usually enough to get me kick started and then I can go on my own. If money is a problem just sign up for one or two sessions and write down everything they have you do, how many circuts, reps, weight etc. and then do it on your own. also take up a sport if you can. I hate running on the treadmill but I love playing sports like tennis or soccer, and you can burn more calories since you will be willing to do it longer. I also have a major sweet tooth! I buy swiss miss diet hot chocolate. it is only 25 cals and helps with my want for chocolate. Another good option is the 100 calorie snack packs. And I also eat frozen fruit like strawberries which helps too. Good luck!

I sort of take everything really intensely. But, a hershey's bar isn't going to kill you and it's good for the soul. Why does everyone consider punishment and shame a good way to get into shape? When you start restricting foods, you're just signing yourself up to pig on all the banned foods. And then comes the guilt...diet over.
Jetta
Well chocolate was binge problem for me in highschool I got to the point I didn't like it, now I think I have better control, can limit it to a few pieces for example. But I don't know about the free day, it's probably backfire on me. I do however like the diet cocoa idea. If I have things I'm allowed to have that would be different altogether. I don't know what kind of chocolate you like but I find better quality the chocolate (like any food), the better it fills your craving with small amount. It's like eating Hershey's generic chocolate vs. Godiva. There's no comparison.
