When Should I Call??

Went on a nice first date with a very cute girl tonight. No drinking involved but lots of nice chat. No awkward moments or anything. I walked to her car, we had a little kiss, we didn't make any plans as she's away on vacation from friday. I told her to text me to let me know she got home safely, which she promptly did.

"Just home. Thanks for dinner and good company! Give me a shout during the week if you like!"

Is this a good text? When should I 'give her a shout'!!? Was thinking midweek but tuesday or wednesday!?

Rob, as a female around your age I can tell you: please don't play these silly games! If you enjoyed her company and she yours (her text sounds lovely), then just get in touch with her whenever you feel like it. Obviously some pacing is necessary, but I wouldn't worry about what particular day or how many number of days need to pass before making a call. In my opinion, the sooner the better. If she genuinely likes you, it doesn't matter if you call "too soon", but I think it may matter if it were too late. Hope it all works out.

I agree - it doesn't sound like it would hurt to give her a call tomorrow and try to set up something before you go. Then again, I don't think you would be a jerk either by not calling her until Tuesday or Wednesday and making plans for when you get back. I think you would be a jerk if you didn't call her at all before she leaves.

Just go with your gut - although (backing up on myself a little bit here) if I am torn about whether to wait or not then experience has taught me its usually a good idea to wait.

Thanks guys! Don't worry traveller I'm not into games but I don't want to rush it either and seem needy.

I'm gonna call her tomorrow and see if she's free on St. Patricks day (wednesday) for a walk or a bite of lunch. If not then we can leave it until after her vacation because I'm working Thurs & Friday evenings this week unfortunately.
