I have been on birth control for 6 years now since the age of 16 because the cramps i was having were so terrible (possibly from a ruptured appendix surgery i dont know or just hereditary)

Anyways, my mother put a "fear" in me that they could cause infertility, yet i asked the doctor and checked every website and everyone said that wasnt true. Has anyone ever heard that they could after many years of use? Because i definitely dont want that happening.

THANKS

They say it doesn't mess up your fertility in the long term, but I'm pretty sure it does for some people at least in the short-term. I was on the pill for 3 years and once I got off it I didn't have a period for a year. Two years later I now have one about once every 3 months. I'm assuming that means I would likely have fertility issues. Before I was on it, my periods were like clockwork. It doesn't worry me because I don't want kids, but I worry that it has contributed to a bunch of other health problems.
