Political Books (with no ulterior agendas)

Can anyone who pays attention to the world events, introduce me to some insightful political books that has no ulterior agendas aside from bravely describing the reality as it is along with books explaining basic governmental structure to analyze?

I've browsed through several textbooks before and found their writings incomprehensible. It's not so much that their levels of writing is better, they just complicate the sentence by using jargon when it could have been written a lot simpler. They also assumes that we're supposed to know a lot about current politics already. Their books tends to be very isolating and only speak to their 'own' people.

I know some of you are very informed and can come up with some good read

The demographic I'm looking for includes North America, Europe, & Asia.
