Is there some truth to this when HR contacts your references?

They only contact the people with management positions?

 

I gave the HR dept 4 references and one of them didn't have a management position but the other 3 did and they only called them. But not the person on the list without a management osition who was actually first on the list was never contacted.

 

So do they take the opinion more seriously of people with these titles

 

Program Manager

 

Project Manager

I'd assume that would most likely be the case.
